Since the 1970's, and more aggressively in the 1990's. professional sports teams, stadiums, semi-professional, and minor league teams have seen a dramatic increase in companies partnering as corporate sponsors.

An effective sports sponsorship as part of a strategic marketing plan can be an effective tool to increase brand awareness, increase sales, and good will.

sPORTS cAPTIONING

In 1994, Country World Productions/U.S. Captioning introduced a sports sponsorship opportunity to advertisers by sponsoring closed captioning for local, regional, cable, and national sports.

Through CWP, a sponsor can “cherry pick” the team or sport, and determine if the company would like to sponsor NBA, MLB, NHL, or the NFL on their local television station, regional sports network, cable, or national network. CWP can even assemble teams in an “unwired network” for sponsorship.

As a sponsor of sports captioning, the advertiser receives exclusivity on each game and two (:10) second spots at a fraction of the cost of a typical media buy.

  • Spots are seen by 100% of the viewing audience
